The objective of this federative program is to assemble a collaborative surgical research network. Inserm aims to support the projects of structures of translational research linked to surgical and/or interventional procedures in order to foster this research as close as possible to its place of application. The new technological and methodological solutions developed must meet the demands of precision, quality and safety while being easily transferable within medical structures and at the patient's bedside. The Institute pays particular attention to the use of easily integrated and accessible technologies. The assembling of a collaborative surgical research network will also be a key point in the success of these ambitious projects.

The specific aims of this booster program are the following:

  • Structure and organize care and research in the operating room (work package 1)
  • Development of technological solutions for minimally-invasive medicine (work package 2)
  • Evaluation of efficiency and quality of surgical care (work package 3)

Each of these work packages requires a specific training that will be adapted to the new technologies and methodologies put in place.

The Surgical and interventional procedures of the future booster program will be implemented in partnership with hospitals highly involved in this field:

  • Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP),
  • Brest University Hospital,
  • Hospices Civils de Lyon,
  • Lille University Hospital,
  • Marie-Lannelongue Hospital,
  • Rennes University Hospital.

Surgical and interventional procedures of the future was the subject of a call for projects from April 17 to May 24, 2023.
