Presentation
Objectives
To develop or validate, under experimental conditions, new concepts, models, or methods in mathematics and digital sciences that can lead to scientific advances in oncology : understanding the biological mechanisms of carcinogenesis, aiding in diagnosis, predictive analysis of prognosis, optimizing care and therapeutic monitoring, etc. The projects should not aim to validate standard methodologies or produce results using methods already proven in oncology. They should aim to have a concrete impact on cancer research in the short or medium term (< 8 years). The funding of a Ph.D. in science (excluding biology/health) is possible under this call.
Targeted fields
Mathematics, Theoretical physics, Statistics, Informatics
Specific conditions
- Projects must involve 2 to 4 teams from at least two different disciplines, including one team in biology/health.
- Projects should be based on real or synthetic biological or clinical data, preferably pre-existing.
- The same project cannot be submitted to Inserm’s 2025 calls for proposals : « Characterization of preneoplastic lesions and stratification of their evolutionary risks (PNP) » or « Contributions of physics, chemistry, and engineering sciences to oncology (PCSI)».
- The project coordinator must belong to a disciplinary field other than biology/health and can participate in only one project, irrespective of the statute as a coordinator or a partner. Biology/health teams can only be partners of one project under this call.
This call for projects is organized by Inserm as part of the 2021 – 2030 Ten-Year Strategy for Cancer Control.
